- Additional Detail Reference.
- ATA
- Air Transport Association
- ATA’s GWG
- ATA Graphics Working Group maintaining ATA drawing and image specifications and CGM profiles.
- B
- Bi-Tonal
- An image that contains only black and white pixels or dits (two tone).
- C
- Callout
- An element (generally a circle with number inside) within an illustration that corresponds to textual information or another graphic.
- CALS
- Computer-aided Acquisition and Logistic Support. Department of Defense initiative to provide the framework for future electronic business process through the use of common information technology standards.
- CCITT
- Consultative Committee on International Telephone and Telegraphy.
- CGM
- Computer Graphics Metafile for the storage and transfer of vector image information.
- CGM Tile Array
- A method of tiling oversized artwork by breaking the image area into parts (tiles). Adjacent tiles repeat a small portion of the image and contain crop marks as well that assist in the reproduction of the overall image from the tiles.

- Electronic Parts Catalog Exchange Standard.

- Format Output Specification.
- Front Matter
- General catalog information at the front of the catalog that is “free flowing” text serving as explanation or clarification of the catalog in part, or as a whole.

- Gray Scale Images
- The spectrum, or range, of shades of black that an image has. Optical patterns can differentiate from 16 to 256 level of gray.
- GRExchange
- ATA specifications for GRaphics Exchange.

- Hot Spot
- Rectangular area on a grid overlaying a graphic or embedded with text that allows a linkage to the display of another graphic, text or file.
- HyTime
- Hypermedia/Time-based Structuring Language (ISO/IEC 10744:1992) is the international standard for the platform-neutral representation of hypertext and multimedia information. An extension of SGML.

- Information identifications enabling the navigation between different pieces of information within SGML.
- IGES
- Intelligent Graphics Exchange Standard used in the engineering world for the exchange of fully loaded engineering drawings.
