Description:
Four loose wheels of the same diameter, matched to tape size, are stacked upon one another, flange side up on two 2″ x 4″ boards placed on the deck of a pallet. The machined surface of each wheel is protected by a pair of spacers consisting of 4″ x 4″ boards or made from two 2″ x 4″ boards nailed together and placed on either side of the bore openings between the first, second and third loose wheels for a total of six per package. The stack of wheels is stabilized by inserting a block of wood or two 2″ x 4″ boards nailed together into the wheel bore openings. A .50″ x 10 x 10″ plywood end cap is nailed to the top of the stabilizing block. Two 1.25″ non-metallic bands placed perpendicular to one another, cross over the end cap and stabilize the wheels.
