Packaging Standards

Two layers consist of four rows of 24 pins per row and 16 spacer pins for a total of 112 pins per layer. The two remaining layers consist of four rows of 26 pins per row and 16 spacer pins for a total of 120 pins per layer. The pins are placed in the crate in an alternating fashion. The heads of two pairs of pins in the two adjacent rows are placed end-to-end while the opposite ends of the next pair are placed together. The alternating pattern is reversed for the pins immediately beneath the row above it. The crate will hold up to four layers for a grand total of 464 pins each weighing about 6.3 pounds.
