Packaging Standards

Four handbrakes are placed in a “pinwheel” fashion, shaft up on a pallet. One additional unit is placed shaft down in the center of the first layer for a total of five handbrakes. The brake levers should face inward and must not extend beyond the perimeter of the pallet. Chains must be taut and secured to the lever of each handbrake by either looping the trailing link over it or by attaching with a twist tie. The handbrake nut and cotter key are attached to each shaft while the clevis and rivet must be placed in a bag which must then be attached to each of the handbrakes.
The handbrakes are secured to the pallet with stretch wrap. Steel bands are not required.
